Facts:

Cape Coral is the largest city in Lee County with a population of approximately 160,000 residents. It is Florida’s third largest city by land area with 115 square miles and is the 11th largest city in the state by population. More than 400 miles of salt- and fresh-water canals have earned the city the name, "The Venice of America," offering abundant and waterfront living for residents. An active community, Cape Coral has something for everyone: golf, tennis, fishing, community parks and even Sun Splash Family Waterpark. The past few years have seen tremendous growth in the business and residential communities. Reasonable labor costs, available land, workforce and quality of life will continue to fuel Cape Coral’s growth in the coming years. The city is a large peninsula on the Gulf Coast of Florida and is bordered by the Caloosahatchee River on the east and Matlacha Pass on the west. The city is located about 90 minutes south of Sarasota and about 60 minutes north of Naples.

Europe

I took a break from the excitement of the tropics to head to Europe to develop my international client base. I use my extensive travel experience and foreign language studies to expand my clientele outside of Southwest Florida and the United States.

I am a full-time REALTOR® with over 19 years in the travel industry and a bachelor's degree in Spanish. It seemed natural for me to create inroads and increase my referral business when in Spain recently. While in Valencia, I called on Coldwell Banker Gestinar Director Nieves Valle Rodrigo.

Valencia is a seaside city of about 100,000 inhabitants, making it a very similar market to my Southwest Florida home base. The luxury home and second-home market exists in both cities and Coldwell Banker has a strong contingent of employees and offices in both communities.


The wealth and rapid growth in Spain's capital city of Madrid also prompted me to meet with Coldwell Banker Gestinar's Director in Madrid, Antonio Salazar. The Madrid office is located on the famous Gran Vía, a few steps from the National Palace.


 
The goal from the good-will visits is to promote a referral network between Spain and Southwest Florida and to stimulate interest in property ownership in this area by Spanish nationals. This is not the first country in Europe in which I have developed my international clientele.




For many years, I have had a strong relationship with many German property owners in Southwest Florida. This market has been a major focus and I works closely with local language school proprietor Robert Moore of WordPower Language Services in Fort Myers. Moore is a licensed real estate agent and I studied German with him for over 3 years. We have successfully collaborated in various marketing projects directed to the German market. I met with many German property owners recently in Munich and I am developing contracts with sellers and buyers alike.

The pleasure of matching the ideal property to the right person is only enhanced for me when an international flavor is added to the recipe.

Foundation for Lee County Schools
In June 2003, I attended a regional Coldwell Banker Conference, where I learned of the state-wide beneficiary of our charitable foundation, Coldwell Banker Cares. Back then, “Take Stock In Children” was receiving our support and there was a booth set up where agents could commit to mentoring a high school student. Through the program, the student would receive a college scholarship upon their graduation. I signed up and have been mentoring since. Jenna Thompson, my first student, is now a Junior at the University of South Florida, studying early childhood education. Lourdes Serrano is a Freshman at Edison State College studying Criminal Justice and is an employee of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. My third student, Kristel Soini, attends Mariner High School and is an aspiring entrepreneur in the fashion industry. This worth-while program is always looking for adults to commit to 1-hour a week giving a deserving student a chance at a dynamic future and a college education. The next 3 photos are from the Wright Brothers formal dinner, my husband, Bob, and I got to meet Sen. John Glenn, the honoree, and one of the speakers that honored him, John Travolta. The event commemorates the anniversary of man's first powered, controlled and sustained flight in a heavier - than - air - machine.
